WELCOME TO NEXTSTEPS!

This introductory course will inform and connect non-members to the heart of Steel Valley Church. This course can be taken virtually or in-person! All participants will get to know leadership, see behind-the-scenes of the church structure, become familiar with denomination affiliations, become introduced to our church covenant, receive an overview of our statement of faith, and become familiar with theological stances (what are essential doctrinal issues in the church?).

  • Yes! You take the next steps at your own pace as the Lord leads. We have regular attendees who have only completed Discover SVC and continue to attend happily. The reason they do not join is usually in our complementarian views of men and women in the church or some other secondary doctrinal topic.

  • Absolutely! Discover SVC Class is introductory to become better acquainted with the church! We hope that the course will provide clarity as you discern if Steel Valley Church is where God is leading you!

  • Yes! We transfer memberships regularly! Discover SVC class is still needed to complete to successfully integrate you into the mission God has for our church body in Youngstown.

  • The Elders always respect privacy and confidentiality. We want to instill trust among all members. Nothing is shared that you desire to be kept private (assuming you are not causing harm to yourself or others, in which case we must report to authorities).

  • The church body is never an inconvenience. We will make ourselves available to you based upon your time and schedule.

  • We believe it is empowering to attendees to know their church deeply and to have a setting to ask questions of leadership. The fruit and feedback after participants complete it is nothing but positive and thankfulness.
