What does it mean to be a Covenant Partner?
Covenant Partners are people who accepted Christ as the only way to God. Covenant Partners are committed to growth in their faith through the Holy Spirit. Covenant Partners are committed to the gathering of the local church specifically Youngstown Metro Church. Covenant Partners are committed to work of the church specifically Youngstown Metro Church. Covenant Partners recognize, follow, and support the leadership of Youngstown Metro Church. Covenant Partners are missionaries to their culture seeking to share the love of God in all situations.
Why should I become a Covenant Partner?
Throughout the New Testament we see people of Christ committed to the teaching of the Bible, fellowship, discipline, communion, baptism, worship, service and community. They set an example for us today that we too should be committed. As well, the Bible commands that we should not forsake the assembling together, the New Testament has 54 “one another” verses giving us specific claims on how to treat our brothers, and Bible teaches how we treat each other is a large determinant of how people outside of the church will view God. All of this shows us that commitment is called for in the local church.
How do I become a Covenant Partner?
1. Surrender to Christ as your personal savior.
2. Follow in water baptism as an external show to an inward change.
3. Attend Metro Worship for a minimum of 4 weeks.
4. Meet with an Elder for candidacy.
5. Take the Covenant Partner classes.
6. Agree to the Covenant Partner commitment.
Covenant Partner classes are offered 4 times yearly, in January, April, July & October. They consist of three classes in three consecutive weeks, each an hour long, around the following: What is Metro?, What is a Disciple?, and Our Command to Multiply.
